Public Transportation in and Around Paris During the Olympic Games

As announced, there are special public transportation options available during the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris.

This plan accommodates the fact that most visitors will need to travel outside the center of Paris. This may be for events in areas like Saint-Denis or because many people are staying in accommodations outside of Paris.

In this article, we will provide more information about public transportation tickets for trains, metro, and buses during the Olympic Games in Paris.

Special Public Transport Tickets

During the Olympic Games in Paris Thanks to these special, temporary public transport tickets, traveling by public transport during the Olympic and Paralympic Games has been made easier and more affordable. This special pass is called the Paris 2024 Public Transport Pass, also known as the Paris 2024 Pass or Paris 2024 Travel Card.

You can choose to buy a physical pass or use the app.

Public Transport (PT) Tickets During the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris 2024 You can also buy single tickets, for example, for a one-way metro trip. These tickets will cost more than usual during the Olympic Games, specifically 4 euros per ticket. You can purchase them at a machine.

For many people, it will be more economical to buy the Paris 2024 Travel Card.

How Much Does This Special Public Transport Pass Cost

During the Olympic and Paralympic Games? The more days you use this Paris Travel 2024 Card, the cheaper it becomes:

  • 1 day = 16 euros
  • 2 days = 30 euros
  • 3 days = 42 euros
  • 4 days = 52 euros
  • 5 days = 60 euros
  • 7 days = 70 euros

(prices per person)

With this pass, you can travel across the entire region in and around Paris using the metro, train, and bus:

  • Within Paris and surrounding areas
  • To all event venues in Paris and surrounding areas
  • To both Paris airports (Orly and Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle)

This means you can travel in zones 1 through 5. Zone 5 covers a large area outside Paris.

Note: This special Paris 2024 pass is only valid between July 20 and September 8, 2024. You can purchase the pass now.

Purchasing the Paris 2024 Travel Card

If you want to order the Paris 2024 Pass, you can do so online here. The pass will then be sent to your home. Make sure to order in time as it may take some time for the pass to be delivered.

If you already have a Navigo Easy Pass, you can download the Paris 2024 Pass onto it (the special promotional price during the Games for public transport). This can be done at any machine at any station (Navigo machines with the distinctive purple color).

Via an App

It is actually more convenient and easier to order the Paris 2024 Pass through the special mobile app. You won’t receive a physical pass, but you can travel with your mobile app. Additionally, the app makes it very easy to plan your route.

The pass activates when you check in for the first time. Everyone must have their own pass; sharing is not allowed!
