Hi, I’m Jenny, the heart behind Paris à la Carte.
I live just outside Amsterdam in the Netherlands, but my heart belongs to Paris. I visit the city about four times a year, and every single trip feels like the first. Paris keeps surprising me. There’s always a new café to discover, a quiet square to stumble upon, or a view that takes my breath away.
Paris à la Carte started as a tribute to the late Els van der Vos, who created this beautiful site out of pure love for Paris. When she passed away in 2017, I felt it was too special to let fade away. So I decided to keep it alive (and to keep sharing the magic of Paris with new visitors from all over the world).
For me, this isn’t just a travel website. It’s a passion project. I write about the Paris I know and love — the one beyond the tourist brochures. The hidden gems, local cafés, charming hotels, and authentic Parisian moments that make you fall in love with the city all over again.
