Full credit goes to Charles Garnier, who designed this opera house for Emperor Napoleon III. It’s as if you step back in time; an absolute must-see, and definitely worth taking this guided tour in English.

Access to the Catacombs of Paris is only with a guide. You wouldn’t want to do this on your own. Imagine getting lost in this labyrinth!
In the damp corridors, you’ll see bones and skulls of more than 6 million Parisians. A labyrinth from the 18th century that later became a cemetery. You can take 130 steps down and 83 steps up. So leave the little ones safely at home.
The cemetery of Innocents was used for nearly 10 centuries until it was discovered that the cemetery was a major source of infection for all residents. As a result, numerous complaints were received. Thus, in 1785, the Council of State declared the suppression and evacuation of the cemetery.
Since only a limited number of people can enter daily, the Catacombs of Paris are a unique experience. Experience it yourself, and it will leave a lasting impression on you. The guide will tell you the complete history while you take in the sight of the remains of millions of Parisians.
