However, you can still enjoy several attractions or marvel at the houses in this district. The rental prices here are the highest in the entire city, and it shows. But what attractions can you expect, and how can you make your stay as pleasant as possible? You can find out below.
More Information About the 16th Arrondissement in Paris
The 16th arrondissement is known for its distinctive houses and metro entrances, all designed by Hector Guimard. The designer’s name is therefore still very much present in this part of the city. Additionally, the arrondissement has retained its village charms, even after significant expansion. The quaint streets, such as rue de Passy and rue l’Annonciation, have remained. The houses have grown larger over the years and it has become a popular place to settle down if you have an adequate budget. From Palais de Chaillot, you have a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower, and you can also find Bois de Boulogne, with many lesser-known spots.

Some Unique Sights in the 16th Arrondissement in Paris
While you’re in the 16th arrondissement, you’ll want to check out a few sights. Although there aren’t many in this part of the city, several are worth visiting.
1. Trocadero Paris
Trocadero Paris is a palace that was built in 1937 for the World’s Fair. Originally, another palace, built in 1867 and called ‘Palais du Trocadéro,’ stood here. The palace is named after the Spanish fortress Trocadero, which was captured by French troops in 1823. The palace features a large arch with side wings. Initially, the building was only for the World’s Fair, but in 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was also adopted here. Additionally, it houses several museums that you can visit. The large open square at the palace also offers opportunities to discover the city’s history through sculptures and the view of the Eiffel Tower.
2. Pont Bir Hakeim Paris
Pont Bir Hakeim was built in 1878 by Louis Biette, also specifically for the World’s Fair. It connects the 15th and 16th arrondissements with a large road for traffic and a rail bridge for metro line 6. The bridge is well-divided and separated by cast iron columns. A statue by the Danish sculptor Wederkinch stands on an extension in the middle. From here, you also have a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower. The name of the bridge comes from the Battle of Bir-Hakeim, a battle between the French army and the German/Italian Afrika Korps.
3. Jardin d’Acclimatation Paris
Jardin d’Acclimatation Paris is perhaps the oldest monument in Paris. The woods were there long before, but it was thoroughly revamped starting in 1852. Before the renovations, it was known as Bois de Rouvray and many monasteries were found there. Today, it has been transformed into a large park, where you can find many water features, tennis courts, and other sports facilities. There are also multiple bike paths and riding paths for horseback riders. Every year, the park hosts the Roland Garros tennis tournament, which attracts many tourists. Jardin d’Acclimatation, the large playground, and the children’s museum complete the setting.
