Many people bring home a mini Eiffel Tower or a T-shirt with “Paris” on it as a souvenir. Fun, of course, but to be honest there are also many shops in the city that sell far more original items. Small gifts, typically French products, or unique boutiques that are worth stepping into just to admire the interior.
In this article I share a number of great shops in Paris where you can find original souvenirs and gifts. Paris is full of souvenir shops, but if you are looking for unique souvenirs and original gifts, there are many small boutiques and specialty stores that are far more interesting than the typical tourist shops.
Gifts and Design
Merci
Merci is a large concept store in the Marais where you’ll find clothing, interior accessories, and lots of great gifts. The shop is famous for the red car parked at the entrance, where many visitors stop to take photos. It is especially popular with influencers.
Address: 111 boulevard Beaumarchais
Arrondissement: 3rd arrondissement
Fleux
A fun design shop that actually consists of several stores located close together in one street in the Marais. Here you’ll find all kinds of original gifts, interior accessories, and small design items. Each shop has its own unique assortment, so if you want to see everything you’ll have to explore them one by one.
These shops are perfect for anyone who loves beautiful accessories, charming little items, or clever gadgets. There’s a huge variety of products, which is why they are so popular. You can also find some fashion and plenty of home decor. And between us… I almost always end up buying something here that makes me very happy.

Les P’tits Papiers Paris

Astier de Villatte
A special store (actually two) known for its beautiful handmade tableware, scented candles, perfume, and stationery. Everything has a classic French style, but prices are also quite high. This is really a shop for enthusiasts. For example, a pump bottle of hand soap easily costs more than €60.

Marin Montagut
A charming boutique filled with illustrations of Paris, tableware, cards, and small gifts. But it is quite expensive. The style is nostalgic and very Parisian, with everything designed by illustrator Marin Montagut.
A good tip is to buy Montagut’s beautiful illustrated book with tips for Paris. To be honest, I personally find the book even more enjoyable than the shop itself.

Books and Stationery
When it comes to shopping in Paris, I personally love looking for beautiful books and original notebooks or journals. It’s a bit of a guilty pleasure, which is why I love these shops.
Brentano’s
My favorite! A well-known English-language bookstore near Opéra Garnier. The bookshop itself is actually only a small part of the store compared to all the wonderful items they sell.
You’ll find original cards, endless notebooks and journals, and all kinds of charming gifts and unique souvenirs. The shop continues toward the back where there’s another large section.
The mostly English-language books are fantastic for anyone who loves Paris or photography. There’s a wonderful collection of books about Paris, from beautiful photo books to guides about great coffee spots. Of course, there are also plenty of regular English-language novels available.

Shakespeare and Company
This famous bookstore near Notre-Dame is a beloved place for book lovers and, to be honest, also for many influencers. Buying a book here with the Shakespeare and Company stamp is something many readers absolutely love.
Besides mainly English-language books, you can also buy tote bags and small gifts. Note that photography is not allowed inside the store. Especially in spring and summer, you will often see a long line outside of people waiting to enter.

Papier Tigre
A colorful shop with notebooks, planners, cards, and other stationery. Everything has a modern design and is often locally produced. Somehow I always seem to miss this shop or arrive when it’s already closed, but it’s definitely still on my list.
This store is perfect for creative people who enjoy drawing or designing.

If you visit this Épicerie for the first time, it’s truly impressive.

Tip for Your Visit
Many of these shops are located in neighborhoods where there is already plenty to see, such as the Marais, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, or around the Opéra. That makes it easy and fun to combine them with a walk through the city.
